This story started out as a discovery of the personalities of three women related by birth who have a secret. The events that create the need for the secret highlight the crux of their relationships or perhaps lack thereof.
I believe that the role of women from the 50s to 60s to 70s has changed so much. Those were the years that impact me and the transitions were huge. (Perhaps they were just as large for all generations, I can only relate to what I experienced). As well, I think the transition was about more than just their role. In so may ways it defined who they were, who people thought they should be, who they themselves thought they should be and, revealed, for perhaps the first time for many, who they wanted to be.
Some of the themes that I included in my book are about women who stayed home, those who worked, those who sought careers, and how babies interfaced with all that.
Not interfered, interfaced. Being the bodies that grow babies and are primality involved in their care, how we as women, go about our world includes how we fit our children into our lives. Somedays days are easy, some days are complicated, for me all were joyful.
And now I get to watch my next generation stick handle their way through.
